Adding Live Chat to your website

In a few simple steps, you’ll have Live Chat working

Although this may sound like a complicated task, it really isn’t.

Once you have been sent your code from Moneypenny, all you have to do is follow these 5 simple steps;

1. Copy the code (or simply email the code to your developer)

2. Paste the code just above the closing </body> tag at the bottom of your HTML pages

3. The code needs to be added to all pages you would like the chat to appear on

4. Should you wish for the chat button to not appear on any of your website pages, please let Moneypenny know. We will provide you with a hidden code to add to these pages

5. Once you have had added the code to the website, let us know and we’ll activate the service on our side.

For WordPress sites only:

Once you are logged in, go to Plugins and follow these 11 simple steps;

1. Select “Add New” from the subnav

2. Click “Upload Plugin” at the top of the screen

3. Click “Choose File” and select the .zip file called

4. Press “Install Now”

5. Then “Activate Plugin” on the next screen

6. From the left hand side menu go to Settings > Moneypenny LiveChat

7. Enable the LiveChat plugin by selecting the checkbox

8. Enter the Widget ID provided by Moneypenny

9. If you wish to provide basic tracking in Google Analytics add a Google Analytics ID (UA-000000)

10. Hit save

11. When this is done, let us know and we’ll activate the service from our end.

From this point, whenever a website visitor enters into a chat on your website, unless you use our support on an overflow basis, that chat will pass automatically to a Moneypenny Receptionist.
