Moneypenny receives prestigious ‘Giving Something Back’ award

Moneypenny is honoured to have been recognised for such a special award

Moneypenny is celebrating the news that it has been awarded the prestigious ‘Giving Something Back Special Award’ from The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2019 for all the amazing work they do for charity.

Each year staff choose three local charities to support and then a host of fundraising activities are organised to raise as much money as possible for these charities, such as breakfast with Santa, Christmas hampers, The Big Make craft fair etc. and many many more.

In addition to the staff fundraising activities, the charity WeMindTheGap was borne out of Moneypenny.  WeMindTheGap, founded by Moneypenny co-founder Rachel Clacher, has recently received £1.1mln of National Lottery funding to increase opportunities for disadvantaged women. Rachel Clacher comments, “We saw a real need to address social mobility in our community, and we applied the same ethos that Moneypenny was founded on, to focus on helping young people in need.”

“We strongly believe in doing the right thing, treating people well and providing ongoing support. This is not about ticking boxes, it’s about business and communities. We have proven that public and private partnerships work, and more importantly that under-served young people can achieve real careers and real choices if they have access to the right opportunities.”

The success of WeMindTheGap continues and the project based in the North West of England has ambitious plans to roll out further training programmes to improve the lives of young people.
