Moneypenny does Movember

Week 2 update

It’s the halfway point and our ‘mo bros are doing great and have so far raised a massive £355.

Sam is ahead of target, and has completed 33k of his 60k goal, Stephen is getting closer to his natural state of a full compliment of facial hair, so is becoming more comfortable by the day.

Geraint’s efforts so far are getting lots of attention, he comments: “So far I’ve been compared to Freddie Mercury and Borat and whilst I feel uncomfortable I know it’s for a good cause so I’m powering through”

Week 1 update

Our team are one week in, Sam is 15k closer to his 60k milestone for Move for Movember, despite the extra resistance caused by his new lipholstery.

Stephen and his ‘mo are on annual leave this week so is handing the office ‘bristle baton’ to Geraint, our newest participant. Read more about Geraint, here.

Moneypenny does Movember

Three of our amazing team are taking part in Movember UK this month, and raising funds for men’s health charities.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. Focusing on raising funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer.

Grow a mo, and save a bro.

Our Moneypenny ‘bros’ Sam, Stephen and Geraint are taking on the Movember challenges this year – here’s a little about them…

Sam is our IT Service Desk Manager and has kicked off  the month with the beginnings of a spectacular soup strainer.

His aim this month is to maintain and nurture the ‘stache while completing Move for Movember – which is running 60k over the month, for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour across the world.

His motivation for taking part is “to raise awareness around men’s mental health, as it’s a massive killer in men, especially young men, and is something that needs to be discussed more.”

Stephen is one of our Service Desk Technicians. Famous company wide for his face foliage, he’s a new man this month and spent the majority of 1st November reintroducing himself to most of the team, and prepping them for the new variety of facial furniture the month may bring. His goal is fundraising, raising awareness and maximum ‘mo!

He had this to say about his reasons for taking part – “Men’s health isn’t a widely talked about issue I find/have found over the years and having known a few close friends who have gone through depression and/or hard times I thought it would be good to try and raise some awareness and support for it” 

Geraint works alongside Stephen as one of our Service Desk Technicians. He’s taking part in Movember by supporting the other ‘bros in the office, and growing his very own snot catcher.

He said about the initiative ‘I’m very aware that a lot of men are suffering with their mental health in silence and I want to raise awareness that it’s OK to speak up about it.’
