The Prince of Wales officially opens Moneypenny’s HQ

HRH The Prince of Wales with Ed Reeves, Moneypenny co-founder

On Friday 14th July 2017, Moneypenny welcomed His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to open our new offices.

The Prince of Wales was joined here at Moneypenny by local dignitaries Deputy Lord Lieutenant Lloyd Fitzhugh, High Sheriff of Clwyd Charlotte Howard, Mayor of Wrexham Cllr John Pritchard and Lesley Griffiths Assembly Member for Wrexham.

This was a momentous occasion. Ed Reeves, co-founder of Moneypenny, commented: “We were delighted to welcome His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to officially open our stunning offices here in Wrexham and to meet our extraordinary staff. We are extremely proud that Moneypenny is recognised as a business that is constantly pushing boundaries, both for its clients and our staff, as is shown in our mould-breaking offices.

His Royal Highness received a tour of our offices and met various Moneypenny team members. As Patron of the Canal and River Trust it was also timely that The Prince of Wales was able to meet the team of PAs who look after the Canal and River Trust telephone, email and social media customer services, especially as we are celebrating our 5th anniversary of the partnership with the organisation. His Royal Highness also met with a group of five previous winners of the ‘The Fellows’, our staff awards scheme which recognises and rewards outstanding achievements and extraordinary customer service.

The visit concluded with our co-founder Rachel Clacher introducing His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to staff gathered in the atrium and inviting him to officially open the firm’s new offices by unveiling a commemorative stone.

Ed Reeves, co-founder: It’s the most exciting day in a long time at Moneypenny; the guys who have been doing the preparations, that put in the hours like nothing else. They’ve done so much work, so much effort and it’s all come together at this moment. What had a big impact on today is all the security guys; they’ve been around with their sniffer dogs and checking everyone coming in, it’s a very different day here at Moneypenny and that change is what makes today exciting.

Kerry Rainford, Engagement Manager: It’s been really precise but it’s been really good.

Carly Davies, Digital Marketing Executive: It’s going to go well!

Kerry Rainford, Engagement Manager: Everyone’s been so excited. From the second we got told he’s coming through those doors we were going to be so excited to see him. I’ve never met him before but I know people who have and everyone has said how he can put you at ease so, hopefully, I won’t feel as nervous when he gets here!

Joanna Swash, Managing Director: Today has been absolutely incredible, it’s been so nice to welcome the Prince of Wales here to Moneypenny and to come and meet so many people in our team.

Rachel Clacher, co-founder: It’s great! What a privilege. Who’d have thought it, the Prince of Wales at Moneypenny? So fantastic and he is just a very talented man; he made everyone feel special, he gave everyone time and I can’t believe that he managed to actually speak to so many people in such a considered lovely way and I think that, for Moneypenny, this will be remembered for very many moons to come.

Ed Reeves, co-founder: In terms of making a lot of people feel extremely valued he couldn’t have done anymore, I’m extremely impressed and for Moneypenny it’s brilliant, it’s a milestone and were very happy to have seen it through.
